A renewable heating specialist landed himself an Environment 2020 award after converting a 150-year-old property at Swanwick Green near Cholmondeley, Cheshire. The highly efficient heating system comprises of a Greenstore ground source heat pump and 280L Greenstore hot water cylinder. The ground source heat pump extracts the natural energy stored in the earth to heat the home – a system that is
extremely environmentally friendly.
Having installed the ground source heat pump at the property, Keith was able to estimate that the state-of-the- art heating system will reduce the property’s heating cost by up to 80%, based on current oil prices, which will equate to a saving of £3,600 this year.

Keith said: “My target was to make use of the products available in order to install an environmentally friendly heating system. People often rely on oil and gas-fuelled heating systems, but the technology available today means that there are now alternatives and more sustainable systems should be considered. “I’m really pleased to have won the award and hope that projects such as this will encourage more people to install renewable heating systems in their homes.”
