Case Study Specifications

The Old School House when we arrived in early Jan 2023 was a cold and damp E EPC rated property. We started by pulling out all the old Storage Heaters and laid all downstairs a Slimfix 18 Underfloor Heating System into a Twin Salus Manifold system. We installed a Mitsubishi Ecodan 14KW Air Source Heat Pump with Ready Plumbed Mitsubishi Storage Tank.

On completion with all the modifications taken place the Old School House achieved a C EPC rating and 80% reduced Energy from the old storage heaters.

  • 6 individual underfloor heating zones all controlled by smart thermostats. Schematics:
  • 2 x Continal Underfloor Heating Manifolds.
  • All Underfloor heating connected to a mobile and internet app for an easy to control system.
  • 6 x Salus smart thermostat internet connected controllers one for each underfloor zone.

  • 100's of meters of Continal flexible piping laid within 18mm thermo insulated boards protected by 10mm of screeding on top.
  • 10mm thick Heat Fibre-reinforced self-levelling compound suitable for underfloor heating. Skirtings etc. remained in situ.
  • 5mm Amtico Parquet is a collection of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floor laid perfectly on top of the underfloor heating by a 3rd Party.

The Old School house needed some TLC, it had a very poor EPC rating and totally inefficient storage heaters which didn’t even warm the building. Keith designed a system for the Old School House which allowed the building to keep all of its characteristics. Keith and team installed a state of the art underfloor and air source heating system. We are so pleased with the system and is now saving us loads on our energy bills. Keith and Team were totally professional and would highly recommend them.

Ecodan R32 Zubadan Air Source Heat Pump 14KW

The Ecodan R32 Zubadan monobloc air source heat pump utilises advance technologies and R32 refrigerant to deliver improved efficiencies. Designed to satisfy larger domestic premises, the patented Zubadan technology is able to maintain a stable heat output at very low temperatures.

Pre-plumbed slimline cylinders come complete with integrated hydraulic components and advance controls. They are designed to minimise floor space and footprint whilst still offering optimum performance.

Continal SlimFix ThermoDek -18

ThermoDEK™-18 – Super-thin, highly efficient overfloor system, with a solid gypsum dry-screed panel at its heart. It provides a high-output, low-profile, high-strength solution, which can typically be laid over existing floors. Suitable for low and high-temperature systems, it incorporates our SUPERflex™-12 pipe, making installation easy even on the coldest of days on site

Salus WQ610RF

WQ610RF in maintaining comfortable conditions in the room according to pre-programmed schedule or a fixed temperature setpoint set by user. Thermostat is factory paired with the receiver. The receiver is connected to the boiler or other heat source.
